Prayer of the love of suffering
The way I see it- As I sit in silence, I listen to the noise of my house, even though it is quiet, there is the hum of the air conditioning. The never-ending shuffling sound of a dog that can't seem to get comfortable, yet he faithfully lays at my feet on the hardwood floor instead of his comfortable bed. I wish that I could have that same devotion to our Lord, I would kneel at the foot of the cross on old, painful knees for the entire time my Savior was hanging there for my sins. It seems that any small suffering I may incur has become trivial in comparison. My unceasing pain I offer it up to you my Lord of all creation. It is trivial compared to yours. You know my pain, and you teach me to endure, to embrace, and even to love it. To have the faithfulness of a dog, and to choose suffering if it means to be close to you. I know that my life is short, a whisp of smoke on the breeze. My suffering is nothing compared to the pain of the cross, which you endured for my sake, and so I embrace my pain, and love it, and offer it up to you, and for the repose of those who have gone before me. In the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, Amen. D. H https://buymeacoffee.com/greyhermit
